Director Alvis Hermanis creates a sequel to the legendary film "Ābols upē" (Apple in the River) in theatrical language.
The film's protagonist Janka returns in the story of "Latvian Atlantis," and actor Ivars Kalniņš returns to the stage of The New Riga Theatre.
And the story of the past of the Zaķusala (Island of Hares) now becomes a metaphor for many other things.
