Joachim Meierhof is not only one of the best contemporary German theater actors, but in recent years he has also gained a reputation as a very successful writer. His books have long been on the bestseller shelves of bookstores. They impress with their wise, heartfelt and cleverly witty observations of life, which allow us to look at the world from a completely new perspective.
In his latest book, he describes his journey to his mother. Both literally and figuratively. The other main theme of the book, and therefore also of our performance, is the invisible side of the actor’s profession. Both tragic and comical. It is difficult, if not impossible, to experience surprises in contemporary art. Joachim Meierhof has managed to make it happen.
